Abstract

|
|
ENU-mouse-mutagenesis produced a phenodeviant showing rotational behavior like head tossing, circling, and hyperactivity. 200 mg/kg ENU was intraperitoneally injected into male BALB/c. Abnormal offsprings of the injected mice began to be observed after the third generation (G3). It exhibited those behaviors after about 2~3 weeks of age, responded to auditory stimulus, and could not swim. The number of normals and mutants produced were 219 and 52, respectively, from mating between mutant homozygotes and heterozygote. The number of males and females within the mutant mice group were 74 to 57, respectively, which was not significantly different from the normal range (P>0.05). Therefore, we supposed that the affected gene was transferred to the next generation by autosomal recessive mode.
